Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What gets deleted when I use PhotoSweep?
PhotoSweep only deletes the exact photos and videos that you manually approve or that its AI algorithms have confidently identified as duplicates or inferior shots (e.g. blurred or eyes closed). Nothing is deleted without your consent or review.
How do I undo a deletion?
PhotoSweep doesn't permanently destroy your photos immediately. Deleted items are moved to the "Recently Deleted" folder within the Apple Photos app. You can restore them from there within 30 days just like any standard photo deletion.
Is my photo library sent to a server for scanning?
Absolutely not. PhotoSweep utilizes the neural engine (Apple Silicon) and powerful native frameworks on your Mac to scan and analyze your images completely offline. No photos ever leave your device.
